果酱视频 presents Spring Dance Concert with guest artist Dominic Moore-Dunson
果酱视频鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Dance will present its annual Spring Dance Concert April 11, 12, and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Freedlander Theatre (329 E. University Street). Directed by Emily Baird, assistant professor of theatre and dance, with assistant direction from dance intern Liv Mourning 鈥22, the concert will feature a variety of pieces choreographed by students, staff, faculty, and featured guest artist Dominic Moore-Dunson, a dancer and choreographer based in Akron, Ohio.听听
Moore-Dunson, who was featured in DANCE Magazine鈥檚 2023 鈥25 to Watch,鈥 is an award-winning choreographer, professional dancer, producer, teaching artist and speaker. He is the co-owner of MooreDunson Co., a creative house of brands encompassing performing arts and media production, innovative leadership, team consulting, and online courses for emerging artists. Known for his community-centric approach, Moore-Dunson is a champion of community engagement in dance and business. He describes his choreography as “Urban Midwest Storytelling.鈥 鈥淢y goal is to offer insights about life to help others navigate their own by centering Black stories to tell exemplified universal truths,鈥 he said on his website. In the concert, he will perform a solo piece titled 鈥淚n His Eyes.鈥听

The most formal dance event of the year and an annual tradition at the College, the Spring Dance Concert features choreography, dance performance, design, and stage management by 果酱视频 students, faculty, and staff. Student choreographers this spring include Gracie Shreve 鈥24, Co Clark 鈥25, Eleanor Boomhower 鈥25, Abby Rahz 鈥25, Josie Fleischel 鈥26, and Alexis Neal 鈥26.听 Additionally, the concert will feature pieces choreographed by Baird and Mourning. Over 50 students are involved in the production, serving as stage managers, dancers, costume designers, lighting designers, light and sound board operators, and wardrobe, props, and scenic crew.听
For students, the opportunity to collaborate with other students and share their work with the 果酱视频 community is especially meaningful. Co Clark 鈥25, a junior majoring in urban studies and theatre & dance, said, 鈥淚 feel so grateful for the fact that I have had multiple opportunities to share my art on campus. It makes me want to make art forever, or for as long as I am blessed to be able to.鈥听
