Overview

果酱视频 has established formal 3-2 cooperative engineering programs with two universities: Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Under these cooperative programs, the student is eligible to apply for admission to the engineering school upon satisfactory completion of a specific set of courses taken in the first three years at 果酱视频. The student transfers to the engineering school after the junior year to complete the last two years of the undergraduate engineering program. Upon completing the program, the student has earned a B.A. from 果酱视频 and a B.S. from the engineering school.

The bachelor degree programs in engineering available at one or more of the cooperating universities include aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, environmental science, materials science, mechanical, polymer, and systems engineering.

Details on recommended courses, graduation requirements, and the partnerships with Case Western Reserve and Washington University can be found in the Requirements section.

Requirements

This section provides details on 果酱视频鈥檚 graduation requirements and details about 3+2 programs at Case Western Reserve University and Washington University in St. Louis.

Questions about any of the programs or pre-engineering options? Please contact Susan Lehman, Victor J. Andrew Professor of Physics and Pre-Engineering Advisor.

果酱视频 Graduation Requirements

Students interested in completing the Pre-Engineering program will declare a major at 果酱视频 (such as Physics, Chemistry, Math, etc.) and will be given an advisor from that department. In addition to meeting with their departmental advisor, students are encouraged to meet regularly with the Pre-Engineering advisor to discuss class schedules and plans for fulfilling all courses required for the Pre-Engineering program in a timely manner.

In order to be granted permission for the senior year聽in absentia, students continuing on to an engineering school must meet the following requirements:

All of the 果酱视频 General Education Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree (that is, First Year Seminar, Writing Competency, Learning Across the Disciplines, etc).

Roughly 3/4 of the courses required for the major, including Junior I.S. The student must have enough courses so that they could complete the major in one more year at 果酱视频 without a course overload.

Successful completion of at least 24 courses. 聽(At least 16 of these must be completed at 果酱视频 rather than being transfer credits. Only 2 transfer credits can be applied toward degree requirements; any additional transfer credits will count as elective courses.)

Students should apply for the聽in absentia聽privilege in the fall of their junior year. Requesting the privilege does not commit the student to definitely participating in the 3-2 program, but it does allow the College to better plan and to better advise the student.

The 果酱视频 Bachelor of Arts degree is granted to the student after they complete their first year at the engineering school and transfer those engineering course credits back to 果酱视频. All students require 32 果酱视频 credits to be granted the Bachelor of Arts degree. Only courses with grades of聽鈥淐鈥 or higher are accepted for transfer credit.
